Tutor: Guarini, Anna
Keywords: Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
Antigenic stimulation
Haematopoietic stem cell transplantation
Regolatory T cells
Acute Lymhoblastic Leukemia
Issue Date: 12-Jul-2010
Research interests: -Phenotypic and functional characterization of monocyte-derived dendritic cells from Acute Lymphoid Leukemia (ALL) patients in complete remission or on Imatinib maintenance, with the aim of designing a therapeutic vaccine. -Analysis of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) cell pro-angiogenetic properties. -Analysis of primary leukemic ALL and CLL cell sensitivity to in vitro Dasatinib (BMS-354825) treatment. -Analysis of the effects of in vitro CLL cell stimulation with antibodies directed towards surface IgM and IgD B-cell receptor (BCR) isotypes. -Characterization of regulatory T (Treg) cells isolated from umbilical cord blood. -Characterization of Treg cells isolated from patient with hematological malignancies who had undergone allogeneic stem cell transplantation. -Interest on detecting p53 dysfunctions in leukemic B-cells from CLL patients in different phases of the disease.
